Belmont's Curse Library Puzzle: Star Charts, Globes & Observation Tower

    Updated

The Library puzzle in Belmont's Curse is three astrology globes in the Planetarium. Each one wants four bounces on its light points, and all three together open the climb through the Observation Tower to Carmilla. Below: one-glance answers, where each clue is, a diagram per globe, and what to do when a sequence resets. Where the guides we cross-checked disagree, we say so.

    Getting to the Planetarium

The Library comes after the Clock Tower. Take the Ferryman to the Clock Tower, find the passage to the Forgotten Bridge and cross it to the right. The Library Foyer is at the far end. Go through the Rhetoric Shelves and take the northeast fork to the Planetarium, where a large reddish planet shows in the background. This is also step 7 of our boss route.

Route from the Forgotten Bridge to Carmilla, with the three clue rooms. Our own sketch.

    Man globe (first)

Where: the first globe you meet in the Planetarium, marked with a man figure. Clue: a Star Chart on a desk in the Astronomer's Office, one of the study rooms next to the Planetarium. You need first: nothing; this is the entry puzzle.

Man globe solution (spoiler: tap to show)
    1. Drop onto the far left point.
    2. Bounce on the lower left point.
    3. Bounce on the lower right point.
    4. Finish on the far right point.

The four lit points form a trapezoid. Three guides say you can do it right to left too; the shape matters, not the direction. Leave both upper points alone.

Man globe: the four lower points, 1 to 4 (our drawing).

Reward: a new, bigger bounce point appears on top and carries you higher in the Planetarium.

    Woman globe (second)

Where: higher up, past the Man globe, marked with a woman figure. Clue: the guides place it in different spots, and these may be the same area: a secret passage near the Salon (drop to the lower floor and head left), or an "Organic Astrology" document on a desk in the Drawing Room that pairs planets with organs. You need first: the Man globe done.

Woman globe solution (spoiler: tap to show)
    1. Far left point.
    2. Upper left point.
    3. Lower right point.
    4. Far right point.

Four guides give the same four points. One says order is free, another orders the hits differently, so if it resets, try the order above first. One guide mentions a pink hook in the middle of this globe that lets you cross to the other side without touching the light orbs; the others do not.

Woman globe: far left, upper left, lower right, far right (our drawing).

Reward: opens the platform up to the Skeleton globe.

    Skeleton globe (third)

Where: on the platform above, marked with a skeleton. Clue: in the Natural Philosophy Shelves, northwest of the Planetarium. One guide says to look out of the window, where the stars form the pattern; another places it on a wall. You need first: the Woman globe done.

Skeleton globe solution (spoiler: tap to show)
    1. Far left point.
    2. Upper right point.
    3. Far right point.
    4. Lower right point.

Everyone agrees on these four points; the order varies between guides (one starts at upper right and ends with a long jump to the far left, and says the reverse of the first order works). Do not touch the upper left point.

Reward: the last bounce point appears and the vertical path through the Planetarium opens.

    Observation Tower and Carmilla

With three globes solved, climb the new bounce points and whip anchors up the Observation Tower above the Planetarium. It holds more Occultist clues and a chair to rest in before the fight. Carmilla waits in the Observatory at the top; guides call the area either the tower or the observatory, so expect both names.

    Aerial Rush (midair dash)Beating Carmilla

Details of the card are on our Arcana page.

    Other Library puzzles

One guide (T-Pose Gaming) also lists a Vampire Lord Portrait puzzle in the Hall of Mirrors that gives Bernhard's Wrath, and says Aerial Rush is needed to reach the Durandal greatsword in the Curiosity Cabinet. We only found those in one source, so we have not written a solution for them. The Library is also full of optional chests that reuse the globe patterns; see the first two guides for details.

    Common mistakes

    • Hitting a point that is not in the pattern (the dashed points in our diagrams). Most guides say this resets the globe.
    • Letting extra orbs light up. One guide says this fails the puzzle.
    • Mixing up the globes: use the man, woman and skeleton icons, not the order you reach them in.
    • Looking for a clue you do not need. Several guides say you can solve a globe straight from the pattern.
    • Missing the rest chair before Carmilla: one guide notes a bed in a room before the fight restores health.

    Where guides disagree

The game launched on October 15, 2026 and the sources we compared do not agree on every detail:

    • Whether the order of bounces matters (strict in some, free in others).
    • Whether the Woman or the Skeleton globe comes second.
    • Where the Woman clue is (Salon passage or Drawing Room).
    • Names for the six points (far left and far right vs middle left and middle right); we use far left and far right.

Every source lists the same four points per globe, which is why the quick answer gives the points first. We will correct the page when we confirm more.

    Frequently asked questions

How do you solve the Library puzzle in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse?

Solve the three globes in the Planetarium by bouncing on four of the six light points around each one. Man: far left, lower left, lower right, far right. Woman: far left, upper left, lower right, far right. Skeleton: far left, upper right, far right, lower right. A bigger bounce point then appears above each globe, and after the third you can climb the Observation Tower to Carmilla.

Does the order of the bounces matter?

Guides disagree. Some list a strict order, others say the four points can be hit in any order, and two say a Man globe solution works left to right or reversed. All of them agree on which four points are lit for each globe, so start with that set, and if a globe resets, repeat it in the order we list.

What happens if you land on the wrong point?

Two guides say a wrong bounce resets that globe's sequence, and one says extra orbs fail it, so land on a nearby platform and start the globe again. One guide also reports a glitch where extra orbs sometimes do not fail it.

Where are the clues for the three globes?

Man: the Star Chart in the Astronomer's Office next to the Planetarium. Woman: a secret passage by the Salon, or a document in the Drawing Room (sources name different rooms). Skeleton: the constellation you see out of the window in the Natural Philosophy Shelves, northwest of the Planetarium. You can solve all three from the diagrams without the clues.

How do you get to the Observation Tower and Carmilla?

Solve all three Planetarium globes, then climb the new bounce points and whip anchors up the Observation Tower. Carmilla is fought in the Observatory at the top. Beating her gives The Occultist Arcana (Blood Spikes) and the Aerial Rush ability.

Which globe comes second, Woman or Skeleton?

Sources differ. Most put Man, then Woman, then Skeleton. Nintendo Smash's order puts the Skeleton-shaped pattern second. Identify each globe by its icon (a man, a woman, a skeleton) rather than by order.
