    Cinder's Cradle

The new region sits in the north, past the now-open gates beyond the Veilwater Basin. Its size falls between the Blackmire and the Veilwater Basin. It has two layers: a lava wasteland of ruins below, and floating islands built by the Ancients above, joined by tendrils of the Shroud. The story's last champion waits up in the sky.

    WhatDetails
How to get inUnlock the next Flame level first; the main quest leads you north past the Veilwater Basin.
Shroud roots12 new ones here (each is a skill point), plus 6 in new edge-of-world areas of other biomes
EnemiesA new faction with 14 enemy types
LocksHigher-tier chests and doors need the new Archaic lockpicks, which start here
New survivorOne specialising in Ancient knowledge and recipes joins your base
CraftingA new tier of gear, tools, food, arrows and spells, plus furniture and building blocks
AchievementsSpire (0.2%), mining (0.5%), obelisks (0.1%) and roots (0.0%) of Steam players so far

Other areas opened too: buildings in older biomes that players spent years trying to enter are now part of the main quest, most former no-build zones accept bases, and two new Hollow Halls are open in the Albaneve Summits and the Veilwater Basin (bring a snorkel for the second). The Albaneve Summits boss was also reworked: less health, a new exhausted phase on solid ground for melee, a wider arena and grapple anchors to climb back.

    Spells, skills and combat

    • Eternal spells for everything. Every spell now has an eternal (unlimited-charge) version, many unlocking in the newest tier. Eternal spells and arrows can be upgraded like weapons, at each class's crafting survivor.
    • 9 new spell types and more tiers of old ones. Common spells drop as loot; niche ones are craft-only.
    • Necromancy: summon skeletons, plus new Necromancy weapon gems. The Gem of Lesser Necromancy now has a cap, and summons fade out of combat.
    • Wands get a heavy attack, unlockable evasive and aerial attacks, and a free-aim mode.
    • Daggers moved from the warrior part of the skill tree to the assassin part, and the dagger armour sets swapped sneak-attack bonuses for melee crit chance.

    Quality-of-life changes

    ChangeWhat it does
Free-flying buildingNew skill Airborne Architect, in the centre of the skill tree.
Loot pickupHold a button, or set it to automatic, to pick up scattered loot in a wide radius (not chests, enemy drops or quest items).
Storage chestsUpgrade or convert to magic chests in place, without emptying them.
Map markersCustom markers and chests can be named.
FishingEvery fish lives in every body of water; the bait tier decides the fish. Improved bait guarantees a same-tier fish.
Body typeClassic or new realistic proportions, changeable at the Barber (Elio).
UpdraftCharge time configurable in world settings.
Fast travelNow possible while sleeping in a bed.
Enemy healthEnemies regenerate over time instead of resetting at once, so a quick boss retry keeps some damage.
Respawn while fallingOut of stamina in free fall? The game offers a respawn mid-air.
Gold coinsNew currency found in chests, spent on vanity items at Mei-Yin Chen.
Voice actingAll lore notes and main survivors voiced in English, German and Mandarin; notes can be queued like an audiobook.

    Early Access saves

    • Early Access PC owners don't pay again for 1.0.
    • Old saves convert to a new format on first load. Your skill tree is reset: spend the points again before you play.
    • Keen recommends starting over, because the early game was reworked (more chests, clearer roads, cheaper recipes).
    • Early Access players get three decorations (a statue over 4 metres tall, a tome with the old “E” logo and a signal light) from Redeem Add-Ons in the pause menu. Hotfix 1.0.0.3 fixed players who were missing them.

    Hotfixes since launch

    VersionDateWhat it fixed
1.0.0.1Oct 15Random crashes and indoor lighting fixed. Fire Wisp scroll fixed at level 27 (it scaled with player level and was far too strong late). Keep master volume at 100% until a reverb bug is fixed.
1.0.0.2Oct 16World settings could not be changed (fixed). Grey fog on Nvidia cards, especially in Hollow Halls (fixed). Corrupted characters skipped during save migration while a full fix is worked on.
1.0.0.3Oct 21Missing Early Access rewards now redeemable. More save-migration fixes, including bases whose Flame Altar was off the voxel grid (their water must be re-added). Black screen joining multiplayer and AMD V-Sync stutter fixed.

    Frequently asked questions

When did Enshrouded 1.0 come out?

October 15, 2026, after almost three years in Early Access (since January 24, 2024). 1.0 launched on PC (Steam) and PS5; Keen moved the Xbox Series X|S version to spring 2027.

Do I need to buy Enshrouded again for 1.0?

No. If you bought the Early Access version on PC, 1.0 is a free update. Early Access buyers also get three exclusive decorations (a 4-metre statue, a tome and a signal light) from Redeem Add-Ons in the pause menu.

Can I keep my Early Access save in Enshrouded 1.0?

Yes. Saves convert to a new format on first load, and your skill tree is reset so you can spend the points again. Keen recommends a fresh start because the world and the first hours changed a lot. Hotfixes 1.0.0.2 and 1.0.0.3 fixed several migration crashes.

    Is Enshrouded 1.0 on Xbox?

Not yet. 1.0 came out on PC and PS5 (including PS5 Pro) on October 15, 2026. Keen Games delayed the Xbox Series X|S version to spring 2027 to reach the quality and performance it wants on Xbox.

    Is Enshrouded 1.0 cross-platform?

No, not at launch. Keen says it is working on cross-platform play but has no estimate for when it will arrive.

What is the max level in Enshrouded 1.0?

Level 50, and gear can be upgraded to level 55. Reaching level 50 is the Above the clouds achievement.

    What is Sparkworks?

A logic system added in 1.0: craft new tools and interactive props, wire them up in a 2D graph editor, and build switches, traps, puzzles, enemy encounters or whole parkour levels. Share them through Adventure Sharing.
