Dressmaker Measurements Reference

Updated

Every Dressmaker commission starts with three numbers — bust, waist and hip. Get them onto the mannequin exactly and the dress fits; get them wrong and no amount of silk will save your rating. Here is the reference table for each named customer, plus how to set the mannequin properly.

How to set the mannequin

  1. Measure the client when they arrive and keep the measuring sheet open.
  2. At the dress form, adjust the bust, waist and hip dials one at a time.
  3. Stop when each dial shows a full match with the sheet — aim for 100%, not “close enough”.
  4. Only then move on to fabric and cutting; the pattern pieces are sized from the mannequin.

Why fit matters

Fit feeds directly into the quality the client sees on delivery. Along with matching their style tags and staying within budget, it decides whether you get one star or five — and stars drive the reputation that unlocks new patterns and shop stock. The walkthrough covers the rest of the scoring.

Frequently asked questions

What measurements do you take in Dressmaker?

Three: bust, waist and hip. You record them when the client visits, and they set up the mannequin the dress is built on.

How do you get a 100% mannequin match?

Turn the mannequin's three dials until each one matches the value on your measuring sheet. Only move on once all three read a full match — a poor fit drags down the final quality.

Do customer measurements change?

Always use the numbers from the measuring screen in your own save. The table here lists each customer's values from their first commission as a quick reference.
