    What the 1.0 release adds

The developer listed these on October 22, a week before launch. Everything from the demo stays in.

    An ending

You can finally buy and own the store. The demo and playtest had no win condition.

    End-game items

    New items for late runs.

    Four difficulty options

Picked after you choose a starting scenario.

    Nine starting scenarios

Including Hydroponic Farmer, Gunsmith, Chemist and Aquafarmer as full starts.

    New starting perks

More perks to spend starting points on.

    Character storylines

Finished stories for several existing NPCs, plus backstories for some characters on the Wanted list.

    Vending machines

They keep selling goods overnight after you close the shop.

    21 Steam achievements

The full list goes on our site once Steam publishes it.

Steam Workshop and a modding API

    Including localization support for mods.

    UI overhaul

A reworked interface (the Aquafarmer GIFs already show it).

    Full localization

Simplified Chinese, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Polish and Japanese.

    More of Georgio

The station's scavenger gets a bigger part.

    Nine starting scenarios

Your scenario decides your first stock and your first kind of trouble: weapons bring inspections, chemicals bring addiction, water brings liability and contraband brings raids. Full details and the perks we know of are on the starting scenarios page.

    Apprentice

    Beginner

The generalist start. Learn every system at your own pace and upgrade as you go.

    Water Merchant

    Standard

Test, purify and relabel water, honestly or not. Pure water is worth more than gold on the station.

    Fence

    Standard

Deal in stolen goods. Move them fast and stay out of Security's sight.

    Rock Bottom

    Hardest

Start with nothing at all. The game's maximum difficulty.

    Hydroponic Farmer

    Standard

Grow crops in a cramped space, ending with genetically modified strains that sell for a fortune, including some people probably shouldn't buy.

    Gunsmith

    Standard

Weapons and weapon mods: high margins, regular security inspections.

    Chemist

    Standard

Profitable chemicals made from closely guarded recipes.

    Rat Wrangler

    Standard

Breed rats. The developer's challenge: can you grow a healthy 2×3 rat?

    Aquafarmer

    Beginner

Breed fish in recirculating tanks. Water quality, food and environment decide what fish you end up with.

    The demo and your saves

    • Demo saves are compatible with 1.0, but the developer “greatly” recommends a new game to avoid bugs.
    • The demo is removed when 1.0 launches. Mods made for the demo will likely not work in the full game.
    • The demo (Update 049, September 14) followed a month-long open playtest; playtest saves could move to the demo the same way.
    • The last demo update (October 19) added fish farming. Every patch is summarized on our patch notes page.
The Security Department's Augmented Identification Guide: visible aug chip, unusual pupils, uncanny expression and other signs
    Security's guide to spotting augs.
The Bloomberry wine fermenting guide (berries, 750 ml of water, optional yeast, a bottle) beside a bunch of grapes under the magnifier
Winemaking: berries, 750 ml of water and a bottle.
The Water Purifier machine and the Water Trading Manual with its quality table
Water trading: the purifier and the grade table.
Wild's Network upgrade board: referral, favor, informant, supplier, service and gunsmith upgrades
Wild's Network: upgrades bought with favor.

    Frequently asked questions

When does Probably Stolen come out?

October 28, 2026, on Steam for Windows PC. Questing Goose Studio announced the date at tinyBuild Connect on September 14, alongside the Steam demo.

Is Probably Stolen on PS5, Xbox, Switch or Mac?

Not announced. The Steam page lists Windows only (64-bit Windows 10). The Steam playtest and demo were also Windows-only.

Do Probably Stolen demo saves carry over?

Yes, demo saves load in 1.0, but the developer strongly recommends starting a new game to avoid bugs. The demo is taken down when 1.0 launches, and mods made for the demo will probably not work in the full game.

Can you buy the store in Probably Stolen?

In 1.0, yes: the full release adds the game's ending, where you buy and own the store. The playtest and demo had no win condition, so buying out the shop wasn't possible there.

How many starting scenarios are there?

Nine in 1.0: Apprentice, Water Merchant, Fence, Rock Bottom, Hydroponic Farmer, Gunsmith, Chemist, Rat Wrangler and Aquafarmer. Junker, Organ Trader and Street Food Vendor are planned after launch.

Does Probably Stolen have mods and achievements?

Yes. 1.0 adds Steam Workshop support with a modding API, and 21 Steam achievements.

What languages is Probably Stolen in?

English, German, French, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Russian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese, all text only.
