Dressmaker Town Events: Every Event and the Dresses It Needs
Updated
Dressmaker's story is built around 14 town events in Twillford. Each one brings a handful of commission cards from different clients, and handing in all of them unlocks an achievement. Here they are in story order, with the cards that belong to each.
Events in the first half of the story
The Duke's funeral
Achievement: Laid To Dress · 78.0% of Steam players
The first event. Prudence wants to stand out, Priya wants to look formidable without colour, and Marie wants sensible black, so no single dress satisfies all three.

Adora's card is the only one that names the contest; the achievement pops with the newspaper report after Alice's Spirited Exercise.

Tips for event cards
- Read all the event's cards first. Several events pair clients with opposite tastes, such as Prudence's flamboyant funeral dress and Marie's sensible black one, so a shared base dress rarely works.
- Event cards keep the story moving. The next main card only appears once the current one is handed in, so a stalled event usually means an open card is waiting, sometimes in Berty's pigeon mail.
- Use the full requirements. Every card we have verified is on the commissions list, and the whole story order is in the walkthrough.
Frequently asked questions
How many events are in Dressmaker?
14. The story opens with the Duke's funeral, and every event has an achievement for handing in all of its dresses.
What is the first event in Dressmaker?
The Duke's funeral. Prudence, Priya and Marie each need a different funeral dress, and finishing all three earns Laid To Dress.
Can you miss an event achievement?
No. Event cards come with the main story in a fixed order, and players report that a dress counts once you hand it in, even if it fails the card.
When does an event achievement unlock?
Usually when the town newspaper reports on the event, which comes after the last dress for it, so don't worry if it doesn't pop the moment you deliver.
