Emberville Guide: Early Access, Price and What's In It

    Updated

Emberville is a pixel-art action RPG with a cozy side: escape the endless dungeon prison of the Vitromotus, rescue the townsfolk trapped inside, and rebuild their town while you farm, craft and decorate your own estate. It enters Steam Early Access on October 27, 2026 for $29.99 ($26.99 (10% launch discount) at launch). Here is what Early Access contains, how long it is and what comes next, checked on October 23, 2026.

    What's in Early Access

Early Access starts with the first major biome of a planned nine. Everything else is in from day one: the story and quests, combat and classes, town rebuilding, crafting and building. The biome's final boss is not in the launch build; it arrives in the first update, planned within a month. The full timeline is on the roadmap page.

    How long is it?

    Rushing7–10 hours
    Average player15–20 hours
    Invested player20–30+ hours

The prologue takes about 90 minutes on average, and Early Access holds 180 minutes of voiced dialogue. These are Cygnus Cross's own numbers from October 19; we'll compare them with real playtimes after launch.

    How the game works

    1. Descend into the Vitromotus, a magical prison where death is only temporary. Its tunnels, ruins and biomes have been warped by kymia, a power born from emotions.
    2. Fight with weapon combos and class skills. Combat is real-time; each weapon has its own combos, and skills spend kymia (the teal bar). Bosses like the Spider Matriarch guard the way.
    3. Rescue the townspeople. Each one you free comes home, helps rebuild Emberville and teaches you things: trades, crafting, quests and even classes.
    4. Build your estate. Farm, fish, gather wood, plants and minerals, and craft equipment, potions, food, tools and trinkets. Decorate with buildings, furniture and plants.

    Frequently asked questions

    When does Emberville come out?

Emberville enters Steam Early Access on October 27, 2026. Cygnus Cross plans about a year of Early Access before the 1.0 release, which is when consoles, co-op and mod support are planned.

    How much is Emberville?

$29.99, with a 10% launch discount that makes it $26.99 at first. Regional prices vary. There are no microtransactions, battle passes, subscriptions or paid DLC planned.

    Is Emberville co-op?

Not in Early Access: it launches single-player. Co-op multiplayer is planned for the 1.0 release.

Does the Emberville demo save carry over?

Yes. Progress from the Steam Next Fest demo carries over to Early Access. Saves from the earlier creator and press preview do not.

How long is Emberville in Early Access?

The developer estimates 7–10 hours if you rush, 15–20 hours for an average player and 20–30+ hours for invested players. The prologue alone takes about 90 minutes.

Is Emberville on Switch, PlayStation or Xbox?

Not yet. Early Access is PC only (Steam). Console versions are planned for 1.0.

    Does Emberville have controller support?

Yes, for combat and menus from day one, but the developer says it isn't at their intended quality yet and there is no on-screen keyboard. Improvements are in the first update.
