Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea Walkthrough

    Updated

Echoes of Teradea's story runs village by village: in each one you make people happy to collect Happilia, revive a withered spirit tree and wake its guardian spirit. This walkthrough covers the order of the chapters, what each one asks of you, what it unlocks, and the points where players most often get stuck. It avoids late-story spoilers.

    How every chapter works

    1. Help the village. Finish requests from the board and from villagers, sell what they need, and build what they ask for. Every bit of help earns Happilia.
    2. Fill the bottle. Once it holds enough Happilia, it caps itself and appears in your hands.
    3. Revive the spirit tree. Take the bottle to the region's withered tree and use it. The tree blooms, the guardian spirit regains its strength, and the area around the village becomes safe.
    4. Next chapter. The village sets new goals (repairs, festivals, upgrades) and a new path opens on the map.

    Prologue

Where: Bloomfield Village and Wolf Hill. Goal: Learn the farm, then sneak out to Wolf Hill.

    • Pick your protagonist (Robert or Carol); the other becomes your childhood best friend.
    • The farming tutorial covers tilling, planting, watering and the shipping bin. The first days are on rails.
    • Your friend talks you into leaving the village for Wolf Hill, against the rule that nobody goes out because of the wolves. The wolf pack chases you home.
    • You meet the Harvest Goddess, shrunk to a tiny size, who asks you to help restore the land.

    Bloomfield, chapter 1

Where: Bloomfield Village and the spirit tree on Wolf Hill. Goal: Fill a Happilia bottle and revive Bloomfield's spirit tree.

    • Do every Bloomfield request you can: they are quick fetch, craft and delivery jobs, and each one adds Happilia.
    • Tame a horse south of the village around day 3–4; it makes the trips to Wolf Hill much easier.
    • When the bottle caps itself, take it to the withered tree on Wolf Hill and use it there.
    • The tree blooms and Lupo, the wolf leading the pack, becomes Bloomfield's guardian spirit. The wolves stop attacking. One player finished this on spring day 8.

Bloomfield, chapter 2 and village goals

Where: Bloomfield Village. Goal: Village projects such as rebuilding the old wolf barriers.

    • Projects need a lot of materials, such as stone, plus provisions for the workers like eggs, so keep chickens.
    • The bag upgrade quest appears now: bring wool and metal to have your bag enlarged from 10 to 30 slots per category.
    • At the Animal Center you can practise horse jumping over a fence, and learn that pets and mounts have hidden skills.
    • You can leave Bloomfield's later chapters for later and head on to the other villages.

    Interlude: the Harvest Goddess Glade

Where: The forest beyond Bloomfield. Goal: Follow the path where the mist has cleared.

    • With the first tree revived, the mist on the path into the forest lifts.
    • The Glade's statue trades Power Wisp Fruit for skills such as more stamina, or for an Ancient Gold Coin worth 8,800G.
    • Keep collecting Power Wisps from challenge statues as you travel; there are 160 in total.

    Tidewind, chapter 1

Where: Tidewind Village, the summer harbour. Goal: Find out what is behind the storms, help the boats sail again and revive the spirit tree.

    • Fogu titles this chapter "The Ferry Braving the Rough Sea": storms keep Tidewind's ferry and boats in the harbour.
    • A villager offers you land: check the sign at Tidewind's east entrance to set up a second farm.
    • The fenced fishing zone costs a ticket; you fish for a score and rank for daily rewards.
    • Mara (the head boatsman's daughter) and Aaron, whose father is stranded on a remote island, live here.

    Interlude: the Sand Sea

Where: The desert between the villages. Goal: Cross the desert towards Maplehill.

    • Quicksand and long distances: a camel handles sand far better than a horse.
    • Find the warp statue on the far side so you never have to cross on foot again.

    Maplehill, chapter 1

Where: Maplehill Town, the autumn town and the biggest of the four. Goal: Settle the feud between Maplehill's traditional music and the new sound, and revive the spirit tree.

    • Fogu titles this chapter "Bryce's Impatience": Bryce, the tycoon's younger son, wants new music and art in town.
    • Shirley's band plays harmonica under a bridge at night while the elders back the traditional trombone.
    • Doc Jr. returns here; Sergei, the inventor studying the mist, opens up later in the story.

    Quarrytop, chapter 1

Where: Quarrytop Village, the winter mining village. Goal: Find the cause of the earthquakes in the mine and revive the spirit tree.

    • The way there crosses snow and ice: bring a wolf for warmth, and ideally ride a reindeer, which doesn't slide on ice.
    • The earthquakes have made parts of the area inaccessible, and the guardian spirit Gorgan is weakened as the villagers suffer.
    • Hank, the adventurer, helps you get to the bottom of the mine; Lorelei leads the mining union and has a secret of her own.
    • Save before going into the mine: some Switch 2 players had crashes there.

Main story finale and after story

Where: The Forest of Echoes. Goal: Lift the mist over the Forest of Echoes.

    • With the four spirits restored, the story turns to the source of the mist. We don't spoil the ending here.
    • An after story follows the main storyline (the Harvest Moon achievement).
    • Spirit trees can be pushed to Hyperblossom later; marriage, children and collection goals carry on.

    Where players get stuck

    • Wolves on Wolf Hill. Before the Bloomfield tree is revived, wolves drain your stamina. Carry food to drop for them, or ride a horse past them. See the wild animals guide.
    • Recipe quests. Some requests ask for a dish the game never explains, like jambalaya (rice, onion and bell pepper in the frying pan). Our recipe list has 50+ confirmed dishes.
    • Torches you can't light. You get a lantern once Quarrytop opens up; fill it with oil and use it on torches and fire puzzles. The flame doesn't last long, so light torches in one go. Outdoor torches in towns won't light in rain, snow or storms.
    • Power Statues with a closed eye or chains. They open only for players with the Night Owl status. Eat something that makes you Wakeful (Coffee or an Energy Mushroom), stay up past midnight, and the chains dissolve. Maplehill's story explains Wakeful.
    • Photo statues. Switch to selfie mode, match the pose and expression the statue asks for, and keep the statue clearly in the shot. When the chains vanish from the statue in the viewfinder, take the photo.
    • Power Fragments that vanish. In the Forest of Echoes, fragments hide in the grass: cut the grass where the glowing text was. One is in the water: fish for it from the highest point into the middle of the pond.
    • Pumpkins and pumpkin seeds. Bloomfield requests ask for pumpkins long before you can buy them. Pumpkin seeds appear in requests and in Quarrytop's general store after Quarrytop's first chapter. Maple syrup for the same requests is sold in Maplehill.
    • Pine sap and Sturdy Lumber. Look for trees with a bucket tapped into them around Quarrytop; they give pine sap, and Quarrytop's general store sells it too. The trees in the snowy area drop Sturdy Lumber. Let the shop craft Sturdy Square Lumber for you: it doesn't use sap, just a few extra coins.
    • Starting Quarrytop's first chapter. After Hank takes your horse, he sends you to Glenn; talking to Glenn starts the chapter.
    • Compost won't go on the fields. Composting unlocks after the Maplehill restaurant mission with Shirley, when Doc Jr. arrives with farm upgrades.
    • Ice and quicksand. On the way to Quarrytop and Maplehill, a reindeer (ice) or a camel (sand) makes the crossing far easier. Once you've found the warp statue on the other side you can warp past.
    • Passing out far from home. It costs 500G and most of your materials. Unlock warp statues as you go and carry cooked food.
    • Festivals you missed. Festival quests unlock after a spirit tree revives, and the game doesn't show their dates, so take them as soon as they appear.

Based on launch-week playthroughs and player reports, last checked October 22, 2026. We'll extend each chapter as players map the later story.

    Frequently asked questions

How do you light torches in Echoes of Teradea?

With the lantern, which you get once Quarrytop opens up. Fill it with oil and use it on the torch. The flame burns out quickly, and outdoor torches in towns won't light in rain, snow or storms.

Where do you get pumpkin seeds in Echoes of Teradea?

From villagers' requests and Quarrytop's general store, after you finish Quarrytop's first chapter. Before that, pumpkins only come from request rewards.

How long is Echoes of Teradea?

Reviewers finished the main story in roughly 30 hours, and completionists expect well over 100 hours for every recipe, fish and Power Wisp. The first Bloomfield chapter takes about eight in-game days.

Do you have to do the villages in order?

No. After Bloomfield's first chapter, each village has its own storyline and you can move between them: start Tidewind's first chapter, then go back for Bloomfield's second, or the other way round. The routes to Maplehill and Quarrytop cross a desert and a snowfield, so most players reach those two last.

How do you revive a spirit tree?

Make villagers happy by finishing their requests and helping around town. That fills a bottle with Happilia. When the bottle is full, it caps itself; carry it to the village's withered spirit tree and use it there.

    Is there a post-game?

Yes. After the main storyline there is an after story; Steam tracks it with the Harvest Moon achievement. Marriage, children and most collection goals continue after the credits.
