    Emberville Classes, Stats and Combat

    Updated

Emberville lets you learn many classes and mix their skills. You unlock classes by levelling weapon and armour types and rescuing townspeople, switch whenever you like, and carry levelled skills into other classes. Below: the classes confirmed so far, all six attributes and the full stat list from the official character screen, and the skills seen in the prologue. Checked on October 23, 2026; we add classes as Early Access reveals them.

    Confirmed classes

    Wanderer

    Starter class

Skills Focus Strike (a punch) and Swift Foot (more move speed). Its class tree showed tiers up to level 40 in the prologue.

    How classes and inheritance work

    • Unlocking: level up a weapon or armour category, or rescue a townsperson who teaches a class.
    • Switching: change class at any time; the Steam page says classes “can be changed at any time”.
    • Inheriting: each class can take passive and active skills from other classes you have learned, so builds mix melee, magic and ranged.
    • Masteries: weapons have masteries too (the demo patch mentions a “Generic Power mastery”), and the prologue showed weapon mastery with bows and brass knuckles.

    The six attributes

You assign points to Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, Stamina, Luck. At level 1 the screenshot shows Strength 2 and the other five at 1, with 7/20 experience toward level 2. The game hasn't published what each attribute raises; we'll test it in Early Access rather than guess.

    • Real-time combat built on two buttons, with combos unlocked per weapon and chained attack types.
    • Positioning, timing and knowing enemy patterns matter, especially against bosses.
    • Skills spend kymia; Kymia Recovery refills it.
    • Dying costs experience, but death in the Vitromotus is temporary.

    Frequently asked questions

    What classes are in Emberville?

Three are confirmed so far: the Wanderer (the starting class in the prologue), the Knight (heavy armour and shields) and the Warlock (magic). The developer describes many classes across melee, magic and ranged; the full list will show once Early Access is out.

How do you unlock classes in Emberville?

By levelling weapon and armour categories, and by rescuing townspeople who teach them. You can switch between learned classes at any time.

What is skill inheritance in Emberville?

Once a class is levelled, its active and passive skills can be carried into another class. So you can, for example, play a Knight with skills learned as a Warlock.

What are the stats in Emberville?

Six attributes you put points into (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, Stamina, Luck) and 16 derived stats on the character screen, from Health Points and Defense to Kymia Recovery and Drop Chance.

Is there a death penalty in Emberville?

Yes, an experience penalty: the demo patch notes list a fix to the 'death xp penalty calculation'. Death in the Vitromotus is otherwise only temporary.
