    Planet Zoo 2 Known Issues and Fixes

    Planet Zoo 2 launched with stability problems, and Frontier has been patching fast. Here is every issue Frontier has named, whether it's already fixed (updates 1.0.4 and 1.0.5) or still in testing, and what to do meanwhile. Checked against Frontier's own posts on October 23, 2026.

    What to do right now

    1. Update the game (1.0.5 or later).
    2. Save by hand often, and load through “My Saves” so an autosave doesn't overwrite your game.
    3. Play Franchise without a VPN. If your username is blocked by the profanity filter, open a ticket with Frontier support.
    4. Report new bugs on Frontier's issue tracker; Frontier says it uses it to pick fixes.

    Franchise mode and accreditation

    Accreditation is separate per mode. In Career it rises with scenario medals; in Franchise with high Zoo Reputation and Wildlife Reserve Biodiversity. Frontier is bringing more species into lower Franchise levels and lowering the requirements for levels 3–5. That also makes the Credit Where It's Due achievement easier.

    Frequently asked questions

    Why does Planet Zoo 2 keep crashing?

    Frontier lists several crash causes it's fixing: multi-selecting grid pieces, releasing animals into Franchise reserves, and recent colours in the flexicolour menu. Updates 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 already fixed hub, blueprint, keybinding and Tanzania brush crashes. Make sure the game is updated.

    How do I stop losing my Planet Zoo 2 save?

    Until the autosave fix lands, save manually and often. Load games from 'My Saves' on the main menu so you don't overwrite an autosave.

    Why can't I connect to Franchise mode?

    Update 1.0.5 extended the login window. Frontier also says a VPN can cause connection problems, and some usernames are blocked by the profanity filter (a banned word inside the name): raise a ticket with Frontier support if that's you.

    Is there edge scrolling in Planet Zoo 2?

    Yes, since update 1.0.5: turn on Edge Scrolling in the Keyboard and Mouse settings.

    My zoo went into huge debt. What now?

    Frontier is fixing the debt bug and says it will reset the credit balance of all zoos currently in debt, in every mode.
