Loftia Money Guide: The Best Ways to Make Dew

    Updated

In Loftia you make Dew by selling crops, not materials: raw materials sell for 1 Dew, while a Carrot sells for 20 and Carrot Soup for 45. Here are the money makers in the order you unlock them, plus the permits worth buying first. Prices are from the closed beta (April 22 – May 6, 2026), with the demo's changes marked; we'll update them again for Early Access.

    What changed in the demo

    Closed betaNext Fest demo
CherriesSold rawNo longer sell raw — cook them
Fruit Smoothie—Sugar (5 Dew from Kun) + cherries → sells for 20 Dew, +15 profit
Seed shopNo sell price shownHazel shows what each crop sells for before you buy
CookingLevels the cooking skillSame — smoothies level it too

So the demo's opening loop is: plant whatever Hazel shows as most profitable, then pick cherries and make smoothies while the crops grow. Spend the first Dew on garden-bed permits and an extra energy station from Amani.

    How Dew works

    • Sell in the shipping bin on your plot. Hold Shift while clicking to move a whole stack.
    • Buy seeds from Hazel. She starts in Loftia City and moves to the Hanging Gardens (Windmill Island) once you unlock it.
    • Spend on permits from Amani to place more garden beds, energy stations and other objects.
    • Everything runs in real time, including crop growth and refining, so the trick is always having something growing or cooking while you quest.

Step 1: grow and sell crops

    1. Start with Lettuce. Seeds cost 5 and sell for 10 — small, but it gets your first garden beds working.
    2. Move to Carrots (10 → 20). Water them, then water again around the five-minute mark so they never dry out. If it's raining, they water themselves.
    3. Pick wild cotton for free seeds. Cotton bushes around Loftia City's waterfalls drop Cotton Seeds most of the time. Plant them for a crop that cost you nothing but a walk.

Step 2: cook before you sell

Cooking roughly doubles what your crops are worth. Two Carrots (40 Dew raw) become Carrot Soup worth 45, and an Egg, Lettuce and Tomato become a Chef Salad worth 55. Each dish is a short minigame and costs a battery charge, so:

    • Cook until the battery is empty, then go quest while the solar panel recharges it.
    • Take the cooking perk in the Progression tab that refunds an ingredient — one beta player had a 40% chance and called carrot soup their main income.
    • After upgrading the cooking station, Creamy Mushroom Soup turns foraged mushrooms into almost pure profit.

Step 3: pineapples while you're away

Once Hazel sells them, Pineapples are the best crop to leave growing: 20 Dew a seed, 6 hours to grow, 100 Dew each. One beta player filled 63 beds for 1,260 Dew and sold the harvest for 6,300 — about 5,000 profit per night. Plant them before bed; switch back to quick crops while you play.

Step 4: refine metal into bars

Copper Scraps come from scrap boxes and a cave in the Hanging Gardens. Five scraps make a Copper Bar in about 30 seconds, and it sells for 55. Aluminium Bars from bauxite ore sell for the same. Keep some, though: bars are needed for crafting later, so this is a top-up, not a long-term plan.

    The hourly Community Farm

The Community Farm in the Hanging Gardens is the best way to restart if you're broke, because it pays in seeds as well as Dew. The demo ends as you reach the Hanging Gardens, so expect this from Early Access.

    • When: every hour on the hour, in your local time. A server-wide message goes out five minutes before.
    • Sign up: talk to Arlo in the five minutes before it starts. Up to 10 players join a round.
    • Play: the board asks for a crop (there are eight possibilities). Set the seed switcher to it, take seeds from the dispenser, plant, water from the dew collectors, and deliver ripe crops to the basket. Up to four crops can be on the board at once.
    • Don't overplant. You only have four event slots, and crops left to wither count against the team.
    • Rewards: Dew, skill points, seeds and clothing fragments. The team rank runs from F (under 50 points) to S (400+); higher ranks give rarer seeds such as Pineapple and Onion. Fragments build outfits — the Meadow Blouse takes 10 pieces, the Meadow Shoes 5.

    Permits to buy first

Amani's permits raise how many of each object you can place. The number before the arrow is what you start with; each step shows the new limit and its cost in Dew:

    PermitLimit (cost in Dew)
    Garden beds1 → 2 (40), 4 (500), 7 (2,000), 10 (10,000)
    Energy stations1 → 2 (200), 3 (500), 4 (2,000), 5 (5,000)
    Processing stations1 → 2 (300), 3 (1,000), 4 (2,500), 5 (5,000)
    Tree plots2 → 4 (500), 6 (2,000), 8 (5,000), 10 (10,000)
    Trellises2 → 4 (1,000), 6 (2,000), 8 (3,000), 10 (5,000)
    Other placeables20 → 40 (500), 60 (2,000), 80 (5,000), 100 (10,000)

Garden beds first — the first upgrade costs just 40 — then a second energy station so you can cook more between recharges. For setting up power and the battery, see the beginner guide.

What isn't worth it (in the beta)

    • Fishing for money. Fish sold for very little. Fish to level the skill, not for Dew.
    • Selling raw materials. 1 Dew each. Refine or craft them instead, unless you need a few Dew for seeds.
    • Clovers. They sold for nothing in the beta.
    • Grinding for hours. Everything is time-gated. Start a batch, then go explore.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make money in the Loftia demo?

Cook before you sell. Cherries no longer sell raw in the demo, so buy sugar from Kun for 5 Dew, pick cherries from the bushes in Loftia City and make a Fruit Smoothie that sells for 20 Dew. Keep crops growing while you do it; Hazel's seed shop now shows what each crop sells for.

What is the currency in Loftia?

Dew. You earn it by selling crops, cooked food and refined bars in your shipping bin, and from the hourly Community Farm. You spend it on seeds and on Amani's permits.

What is the fastest way to make Dew early in Loftia?

Grow crops and sell them instead of raw materials, which only sell for 1 Dew. Start with Lettuce (seed 5, sells for 10) or Carrots (seed 10, sells for 20), then cook two Carrots into Carrot Soup for 45.

What should I plant before logging off?

Pineapples. In the beta a seed cost 20 Dew, took 6 hours to grow and sold for 100, so they pay well while you're away.

Is fishing worth it for money in Loftia?

Not in the beta. Fish sold for very little, so creators fished to level the skill rather than for Dew.

When is the Community Farm in Loftia?

Every hour, on the hour, in the Hanging Gardens. Sign-ups with Arlo open five minutes before. Up to 10 players take part and everyone gets Dew, seeds and clothing fragments based on the team's rank.
