Tenebris Somnia Endings: All 4 and How to Unlock Each
Updated
Tenebris Somnia has four endings. Your first run ends in Solve et Coagula or Magnum Opus, depending only on whether you kill the Relicta ghosts after getting the Aurifer. The other two, Vivus ex Mortibus and Renuntiatio, need both of those first and a new game. Here is each one step by step, with the share of Steam players who have it (October 22, 2026).

Ending #1: Solve et Coagula
Good ending, first run. Needs: A normal playthrough. Achievement: SOLVE ET COAGULA (17.2% of players).
- Once you have the Aurifer knife, the Relicta ghosts run from you.
- Don't kill a single one with the Aurifer. That's all it takes.

Ending #2: Magnum Opus
Bad ending, first run. Needs: A normal playthrough. Achievement: MAGNUM OPUS (17.5% of players).
- After getting the Aurifer, kill at least one Relicta ghost with it.
- How many you kill beyond that is up to you.
Going for 100%? Heart of Lead asks you to kill all the Relicta ghosts (4.2% of players), so do it on your Magnum Opus run. See all Tenebris Somnia achievements.
Ending #3: Vivus ex Mortibus
Hidden ending, new game. Needs: Endings 1 and 2 first, then start a new game. Achievement: VIVUS EX MORTIBUS (5.1% of players).
- Take the Bible from the desk.
- On the apartment's second floor, use the Bible: start on the Man/Mars symbol and run counterclockwise six times. Do this before the TV puzzle.
- Solve the TV puzzle using the Bible.
- On the Community Center's first floor, use the Bible and enter 6666 into the lock. Don't open that lock any other way.
- Go through the green door on Floor 0 and use the Bible again. Plug the yellow RCA cable into the camera and keep changing channels until enemies spawn. Do this before the door the Copper Key opens.
- On the third floor, go through the blue door left of the elevator, insert the three Iron Crosses and enter.
Ending #4: Renuntiatio
Hidden ending, new game. Needs: Endings 1 and 2 first. Achievement: RENUNTIATIO (9.2% of players).
- Use the Apartment keys on the door.
Frequently asked questions
How many endings are in Tenebris Somnia?
Four, each with a Steam achievement: Ending #1 Solve et Coagula, #2 Magnum Opus, #3 Vivus ex Mortibus and #4 Renuntiatio.
How do you get the good ending in Tenebris Somnia?
Once you have the Aurifer knife, the Relicta ghosts flee from you. Don't kill any of them: that gives Solve et Coagula. Killing even one gives Magnum Opus.
How do you get the secret endings?
Both need Solve et Coagula and Magnum Opus first. Vivus ex Mortibus takes a new game and a chain of Bible steps done before the normal puzzle solutions; Renuntiatio means using the Apartment keys on the door.
Which ending should I get first?
Solve et Coagula (spare the ghosts). On your second run, kill them for Magnum Opus, and if you want the Heart of Lead achievement, kill every Relicta ghost on that run.
